Applications
This is a specialized
thermal spray process that allows custom fabrication and part
repair. Arc Spray is the most effective method available for
component restoration, corrosion protection, custom manufactured
coating and wear resistance.
The traditional thermal spray process utilizes heat to melt the
wires that are then sprayed onto the substrate, often causing it
to distort and go through metallurgical changes due to the
transfer of heat.
This problem has been eliminated by the Arc Spray, an advanced
thermal spray process that uses electric current to melt the wires
and then uses compressed air instead of gas to spray the molten
particles.
Since the applied particles carry very little heat to the
substrate, this method can be used in virtually any application.
The low heat output of this innovative process guarantees that
other dimensions and heat-treated areas remain unaffected,
allowing us to spray internal as well as external surfaces.
West Coast Weld Tech can even spray metal onto plastic. This
attribute makes the process ideal for many industries and
applications where other techniques fall short. We can spray a
wide selection of metals with a tensile strength of up to 10,000
pounds per square inch.
Arc Spray delivers a consistent coating every time and can restore
worn parts to better than new condition. It is a cost effective
alternative to the chroming of worn journals and is currently
being used by the aerospace, pulp and paper, printing, marine,
refrigeration and oil industries.
At West Coast Weld Tech our experienced, highly trained personnel
combine cutting edge technology with their passion for innovation
to deliver results that consistently meet or exceed the
expectations of our clients. The result is the impressive list of
I.R.C.'s we have written and our reputation as an industry leader.
